Wet Aircraft Washing with Deionized Water

A wet aircraft wash may be appropriate when the exterior has contamination that is better addressed with water, selected aircraft-cleaning products, and careful hand washing. Ozark Aircraft Wash uses a low-pressure approach and deionized water rather than advertising conventional pressure washing.

The process is available only where the aircraft’s condition, the proposed work area, facility permission, and local runoff requirements allow it.

What the Wet-Wash Approach Includes

Low-pressure application

Water and cleaning products are applied without representing the service as high-pressure washing. The goal is controlled exterior cleaning suited to the aircraft and work area.

Hand washing

Exterior surfaces are handled through a deliberate hand-wash process. The service description does not imply automated equipment or a universal procedure for every surface.

Deionized water

Deionized water is used to support a spot-reduced final rinse. It does not remove the need for appropriate surface handling or guarantee a completely spot-free result in every condition.

Bug and surface cleaning

Suitable bugs and exterior buildup can be addressed during the wash. Belly residue or unusually concentrated contamination may require separately scoped work.

When Wet Washing May Be Preferable

A wet process may make more sense when an aircraft has broader surface contamination, buildup that should not be worked through repeated waterless wiping, or owner preference for a water-based hand wash. The final recommendation depends on what is present and whether the work area permits washing.

If the aircraft has only light dust, fingerprints, or routine hangar contamination, waterless aircraft washing may be an alternative. Neither method is presented as universally better.

Windows and Sensitive Areas

Windows and transparencies require product and material choices appropriate to the surface. Owners should identify special transparency requirements, coatings, finishes, or manufacturer restrictions before service.

Care is also required around antennas, static ports, pitot tubes, seams, and control-surface areas. Aircraft washing remains appearance care and is not maintenance or inspection work.

Facility Permission, Water Use, and Runoff

Wet washing cannot be assumed to be allowed at every airport, ramp, hangar, FBO, or private aviation facility. The customer should confirm that mobile washing, water use, and the proposed work area are permitted. Facility-specific runoff or work-area requirements must be addressed before the appointment.

Access responsibility: Customers arrange aircraft, ramp, gate, hangar, security, airport, FBO, or facility access and notify the appropriate operator in advance when required. Ozark Aircraft Wash does not claim guaranteed access or an airport/FBO partnership.

Ozark Aircraft Wash brings its own aircraft-cleaning equipment, RealClean Aviation Products selected for aircraft cleaning and appearance care, and its own water supply. The customer is not asked to provide water or power.

Scheduling a Mobile Wet Wash

At least 24 hours of advance notice is preferred. Availability may vary based on travel, weather, airport access, facility permission, and existing commitments. Longer-distance requests are considered individually, and travel charges may apply.
